While in the VFX department of The Refinery’s Joburg branch, I was tasked with compositing several shots for the Showmax film, Breekpunt. These included, but not limited to, the lightning strikes in the background showing a coming storm, to composite spectating crowdsinto empty stadium bleachers.
During my intern run at The Refinery, I was positioned in the Visual Effects department for a trial period. For Episode 1 of GO!, I made and created the car ride overlays, social media recreations as well as the emoji splash effect.
For Unseen season 2, I was tasked with assisting with the lead visual effects artists in
removing/compositing out city signage to muzzle flash and gun effects during action scenes.
Worked directly under the head of Visual Effects at The Refinery, even taking over during his sabbatical, I was tasked with compositing as well as rotoscoping TVs, adding wires, color correction and adding special effects to bring the massive Middle-Eastern and Southern Asian marketing campaign to life.
